Paper Lanterns

20 x 20 cm | Edition of 8 | 5 available | Unframed

Inspired by the glowing lanterns I encountered while travelling in Japan, this piece celebrates light, pattern, and quiet beauty. The overlapping lanterns carry delicate floral motifs and blossoms, each one a symbol of warmth and celebration.

Created as a hand-printed reduction linocut, Paper Lanterns combines layers of rich blues, soft golds, and crisp whites to evoke the serene atmosphere of lanterns drifting into the night sky. The detailed carving and layered colour bring depth and texture, inviting you to linger with the artwork as you would with the lanterns themselves.

Whether it reminds you of travels, festivals, or simply the joy of light in darkness, this print captures a timeless sense of calm and connection.
