Returns & Refunds Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Thank you for purchasing artwork from Art by Joanne Spencer.

I hope you love your artwork when it arrives. However, if you change your mind about an online purchase, this policy explains how returns and refunds work.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights.

1. Your Right to Cancel

If you are a UK consumer purchasing online, you will normally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your artwork, without having to give a reason.

The 14-day cancellation period begins on the day after you, or a person nominated by you other than the delivery carrier, receives your order.

To exercise your right to cancel, please let me know clearly that you wish to return your order by emailing:

Joanne@artbyjoannespencer.com

Please include your name and order details so that I can identify your purchase.

2. Returning Your Artwork

Once you have notified me that you wish to cancel your order, you should return the artwork within 14 days.

Unless the artwork is faulty, damaged or has been incorrectly supplied, you are responsible for the cost of returning it.

Returns should be sent to:

Art by Joanne Spencer
23 Macie Drive
Corsham
Wiltshire
SN13 9EJ
United Kingdom

Please package the artwork carefully and, wherever possible, use the original packaging or packaging that provides equivalent protection.

I strongly recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured delivery service, as you are responsible for the artwork until it is received by me.

3. Condition of Returned Artwork

Please take reasonable care of the artwork while it is in your possession.

Returned artwork should be returned in the same condition in which it was received.

You may be responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what would reasonably be necessary to examine the artwork.

4. Refunds

Once your return has been received, I will process any refund due in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed.

Where you exercise your statutory right to cancel an online order, the original standard delivery charge will also be refunded where required by law.

If you chose a more expensive delivery option than the standard delivery service offered, the additional delivery cost is not normally refundable.

Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional time for the refund to appear in your account after it has been processed.

5. Commissioned and Personalised Artwork

The statutory right to cancel may not apply to artwork that has been:

  • Created specifically to your requirements
  • Personalised for you
  • Made as a bespoke commission

Where you commission an artwork, any specific cancellation, deposit or payment terms will be discussed and agreed with you before work begins.

This does not affect your statutory rights if commissioned or personalised artwork is faulty, damaged or not as agreed.

6. Damaged Artwork

I take great care when packaging artwork for delivery, but occasionally damage can occur in transit.

If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact me as soon as reasonably possible at:

Joanne@artbyjoannespencer.com

Please include your order details and photographs showing:

  • The damaged artwork
  • The packaging
  • Any visible damage to the outside of the parcel

Please keep the artwork and all original packaging while I investigate the issue.

Where artwork has been damaged in transit, I will work with you to provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.

As many of my works are original pieces or part of small hand-printed editions, an identical replacement may not always be possible.

7. Incorrect Orders

If you receive an artwork that is different from the one you ordered, please contact me as soon as reasonably possible.

I will arrange an appropriate solution and, where the error is mine, you will not be responsible for reasonable return postage costs.

8. Sale Artwork

Purchasing an artwork at a reduced or sale price does not remove your statutory consumer rights.

Where statutory cancellation rights apply to an online purchase, they also apply to eligible sale items.

9. Original and Hand-Printed Artwork

Please remember that my reduction linocut prints are individually hand printed.

Small variations in ink coverage, colour, registration and impression are a natural part of the handmade printmaking process and contribute to the individual character of each print.

These natural variations are not necessarily faults.

I make every reasonable effort to photograph artwork accurately, but colours may also appear slightly different depending on your screen or device settings.
