Road Trip

As a group of us approached retirement from Wiltshire Police, our conversations often turned to dreams for the future. One that came up again and again was the idea of a camper van adventure — and for many, Scotland's legendary North Coast 500 was top of the list.

The NC500 is a 500-mile route around the northern tip of Scotland, known for its breathtaking scenery and challenging roads. Travellers attempt it in everything from vintage sports cars to penny farthings, but for me there was only one choice: the iconic VW split-screen camper van.

When creating Road Trip, I wanted to capture not only the dramatic lochs and mountains of the route, but also the sense of freedom, adventure, and new beginnings that come with embarking on such a journey.

I hope this piece sparks a feeling of possibility and exploration in you too — or perhaps stirs fond memories of your own adventures on the open road.
