During my years as a Police Officer in Wiltshire, I often found myself on duty at the Summer Solstice — which meant waking at a ridiculous hour to be at the stones before dawn. Yet, as the sun rose and the sky filled with colour, the exhaustion of a 4am shift melted away. The beauty of the moment always won.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI've been fortunate enough to visit many other stone circles, but I return time and again to Stonehenge and Avebury in my artwork.
